I will promote the vote by encouraging ordinary citizens to both vote and run for public office thus empowering the voice of the people. I will motivate the residents to run for office in their city, county and state by educating them as to the ease of the journey and by assisting them throughout the process.

AS SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS I WILL

• ensure the integrity of the peoples’ vote by implementing and enforcing the voting statutes without exception
• respect and protect every vote
• demonstrate impartiality as to all issues, parties and candidates at all times
• actively provide education to citizens as to the processes involved in voting and in  becoming a candidate
• provide extensive assistance to all candidates from the beginning of the process to the end

WHEN ORDINARY CITIZENS RUN FOR PUBLIC OFFICE:

• it gives voters a choice which empowers the voter
• it holds incumbents accountable because they cannot take their office for granted
• it creates debate on the issues
• it injects fresh ideas into government
• it makes government more responsive to the people
• it reduces the incidence of “career politicians”

Living in a free and democratic society, each of us is challenged to ensure that our government will not become stagnant, nor serve only the special interests.  We rise to that challenge by exercising our right to vote, and also by choosing and supporting a variety of candidates who will work to solve the issues of the voters.
